About
“We all take some wrong turns, that’s how we get where we’re going.”
- Aunt Leona A CAPPELLA
Not wrong - circuitous maybe. I grew up in Rochester, NY, but I’ve lived in Atlanta long enough to miss snow. A BFA in Sculpture from Virginia Commonwealth University; a sculpture studio in The Torpedo Factory outside of Washington, DC; graduate studies in Writing for Art History at the Art Institute of Chicago. I moved to Atlanta and into Advertising (the Portfolio Center, now the Miami Ad School). I had a career as an art director while raising two strong girls. Their fearlessness inspired me to bring my writing out of the drawer and onto the stage. While writing in other people’s voices, I found my own.
My work has been in theaters and festivals around the country; Australia and Germany. as well, and now Zoom. Additional workshops, readings, seminars, etc: ASCAP/NY; NMI/ New Musicals Inc, LA; CTI/Commercial Theater Inst.; TRU/Theatre Resources Unltd; NYMF/New York Musical Festival; TYA /One Theater World; Dramatists Guild Institute; Alliance Theatre, Horizon Theatre, CreateTheater
